I interviewed 3 stylist that I think are major game changers in the hair industry. I asked them all the same 5 questions, I did this to show that we are all basically wanting the same thing for our guests and we are really a team no matter where we are.

*HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING HAIR?
I have been doing hair for 16 years.
*WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A STYLIST? When I was the age of 7, I always wanted to be a hairstylist. I was inspired by my older babysitter who purchased me my first curling iron that year. As I grew older my love for the hair industry seemed to increase. I attended my first hair show at the age of 15 and I knew then I was forever hooked.
*WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WANT YOUR CLIENTS LEAVING WITH AFTER THEIR APPOINTMENT WITH YOU ?
Confidence. Confidence they are just as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. And of course to really love their hair.
*WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO BEHIND THE CHAIR?
Honestly, I really don’t have a favorite. I love it all. *WHAT IS A NEW THING YOU ARE WORKING ON THIS YEAR?
I working on really building my tribe. Becoming the best stylist I can be from my skills to my customer service. Growing as an entrepreneur, surrounding myself with like minded and positive peers.

* HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING HAIR?
I have been licensed since 2011, so almost 8 years!
* WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A STYLIST?
My high school offered a cosmetology program and it sounded like more fun than senior year! Years later I fell madly in love with the industry!
*WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WANT YOUR CLIENTS LEAVING WITH AFTER THEIR APPOINTMENT WITH YOU ?
A new found sense of confidence. Mind stretching conversations so they leave feeling like they just spent a day with a close friend. I want them to have hair so soft and healthy feeling that they can’t stop touching it, can’t stop peeking at themselves in the mirror for a few days.
*WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO BEHIND THE CHAIR?
Connect deeply with my guests! But practically speaking, balayage and babylights transformations. And tape in extensions!
*WHAT IS A NEW THING YOU ARE WORKING ON THIS YEAR?
This year I am seriously focusing on growing my mastermind group, Stylist Soul Tribe. I want to nurture my students and scale the business further. I want to impact as many lives as I can.
I hope you enjoyed these interviews and I hope to do this a couple times a year reaching out with other professionals in my industry. What are some other things you have questions about that I can include in the next set of interviews.
Stay Beautiful
Elisa Mae
